APC policy

Please note that our publication fees are primarily structured for research institutions. To ensure this policy does not hinder our authors, a comprehensive waiver system is available to reduce individual financial impact while maintaining the sustainability of our editorial project.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Article Processing Charges (APCs) are required for all accepted papers unless otherwise stated. An exception applies to authors affiliated with institutions participating in the journal’s institutional Support Program. APCs are payable after acceptance and prior to publication. Invoices are issued upon request. Since January 2026, a single APC rate per article applies to all submissions under the Gold Open Access model.

APC Rate: A single APC of 350 EUR (+VAT, if applicable) is payable per accepted article.


Waiver Policy

Waivers may be granted at editorial discretion based on academic merit and/or documented financial need, up to a maximum of two articles per issue.

Evaluation Rules and Criteria

Scientific Merit and Authority: The quality and suitability of the article, alongside the scientific authority of the author and their institution, serve as the mandatory initial screening. Requests that do not meet this standard of excellence will be refused.

Authors Without Affiliation: If the author comply with the above mentioned Scientific Merit and Authority but has no institutional affiliation, the waiver can be granted (any institution will be identified or associated with the author).
 
Authors With Affiliation and Partnership Terms
For authors with an affiliation that demonstrates scientific authority, the approval of the waiver and the public acknowledgment of the institution are tied to a partnership proposal:
  • If terms are accepted: The waiver is granted, the institution is publicly identified as a partner, and a formal editorial contact will be initiated with them.
  • If terms are declined: The waiver is granted anyway, but the institution will not be identified or associated with the journal's publication.

Open Access Funding

Article Processing Charges may be supported by research funders, institutions, or research units in accordance with applicable Open Access funding policies. Information on funding bodies and Open Access mandates is available through the Registry of Open Access Repositories Mandatory Archiving Policies (ROARMAP).
