Cairo lies in the center of an Egyptian identity crisis. At once razing existing housing settlements and developing desert land for new neighborhoods, cities, and even a New Administrative Capital NAC, Cairo has also begun to reckon with its historic resources as a crucial component, and sometimes economic catalyst, for urban redevelopment.
