Abstract

This article presents the creative experience of the video performance A palavra que diz (2025), by the duo ]duplamultidão[, composed of visual artists Nivalda Assunção and Armando Queiroz. With editing by visual artist Itair Rodrigues, the video was conceived through their peregrinations across the reminiscences of washerwomen from so many rivers and seas of memory, weaving together the cities of Havana, Unaí, and Marabá in a whirlwind of meanings between harsh and gentle reality and soft yet hard poetry, where the word itself comes to speak. This work was conceived and produced specifically for the cycle of activities of EcoArte: Social Creativity, Collective Action, and Environmental/Sustainable Artistic Practices – 2025.
