Abstract

This article aims to investigate notions of meaning for the word earth, from the study of Latin American and Iberian artistic works, carried out in the 1970s. The spatial and temporal delimitation, enable to map social, political and discussion issues of the field of art, relevant in representative exhibitions and their contexts. The questioning of object art is presented based on the notion of conceptual art, with correlated terms associated with the dimensions of living, ambiance and experimentation, related in works that evoke the word-concept earth.
